Itinerary
On arrival at Guwahati Airport, you will proceed by road to Shillong, often called the “Scotland of the East.” En route, you can stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake for photographs. After reaching Shillong, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay will be in Shillong.
After breakfast, you will take a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on earth. You will visit Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, and explore the limestone formations inside Mawsmai Cave. In the evening, return to Shillong for overnight stay.
Today you will explore local attractions of Shillong including Shillong Peak for panoramic views, Elephant Falls, and the Don Bosco Museum. You can also enjoy shopping at Police Bazaar in the evening. Overnight stay will be in Shillong.
After breakfast, you will drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the one-horned rhinoceros. Upon arrival, check in to your jungle lodge or resort and relax. Overnight stay will be in Kaziranga.
Early in the morning, you will enjoy an elephant or jeep safari inside Kaziranga National Park, where you may spot the famous one-horned rhino, wild buffalo, elephants, and various bird species. The rest of the day is free for leisure or another safari session. Overnight stay will be in Kaziranga.
After breakfast, you will proceed to Guwahati. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, you may enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River. Overnight stay will be in Guwahati.
Today you will visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peethas in India. You can also visit Umananda Temple located on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra River, and explore the Assam State Museum if time permits. Overnight stay will be in Guwahati.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey with beautiful memories of Meghalaya and Assam.
